Brush Pass
Closed alphaA fast tactical bluffing game of Cold War espionage. Eight operatives, one briefcase, four rival services — and every spy on the board works for whoever has quietly paid them the most. Ten minutes a game, on your phone.
Platform Android · Stage Closed alpha · Distributed through Google Play closed testing
Brush Pass is in closed testing on Google Play. The build is playable end to end — solo against the AI, online at a table of four, with a tutorial, a league and cosmetic operative packs — and it is being tested by a small group of real players before it goes public. We are looking for more of them. There is no store listing to link yet; testers are added by hand and get an opt-in link once they are on the list.
Brush Pass is available on Google Play. We still run playtests for new features and new boards, and the Discord is where they are organised.
No purchase is required to test or to play. Credits buy cosmetic operative packs only; nothing you can buy changes what happens on the board.
How it plays
Four services are racing to get a briefcase back to their own headquarters. None of them has agents of their own. The eight operatives on the board belong to no one — each one moves for whichever player has paid them the most, and what everyone has paid is secret.
-
Pay an operative
Slide money to any operative on the board. Nobody sees the amount. Buying control of a spy near the briefcase is obvious; buying control of one nobody is watching is how games are won.
-
Move the briefcase
Move an operative you believe you control. The first operative to leave a city with the briefcase takes it along — off another spy, if they were sharing the space. Get it into your headquarters and the game is over.
-
Call the bluff
Any player can challenge a move by declaring what they have paid that operative — and they may understate it, never overstate it. The mover has to cover the claim or be exposed. Raise, fold, or push until someone's real investment is laid bare. Lose the standoff and you sit out a turn.
-
Out a spy
Once you have paid an operative enough to make them your informer, you can use them to burn another operative off the board for good — and change the map for everyone.
What is in the current build
- Solo play against AI opponents with cautious, balanced and aggressive profiles.
- Online tables — find a game and be seated with other players in about a minute; AI fills any empty seats.
- Private rooms by code, for playing with people you know.
- An interactive tutorial that teaches the game inside a real game.
- Multiple boards, from the classic hub-and-spoke map to a single tight loop.
- League and global rankings — ratings for league play, and a leaderboard of online wins against other people.
- The Dossier — cosmetic operative packs and backgrounds, bought with Credits earned by playing.
- Solo play works offline, and a game in progress survives closing the app.
The rules are settled and the game is stable, but it is an alpha: expect the occasional rough edge in online play, a version stamp that changes often, and balance that is still being tuned from real games. Finding those edges is exactly what testers are for.
